A Little About Myself

Hi. My name is Jerry A. Pipes (I use my middle initial so that you won't confuse me with
all the other people you know named Jerry Pipes).

You've reached what I call planet snewpy. Why? Well, I've had a special connection with Snoopy, the Peanuts character, ever since I was in high school, so it's a nickname of sorts. Although there aren't many people who actually call me snewpy, I have found that self-imposed nicknames prevent, to a certain degree, those otherwise bothersome nicknames that others (who claim to be your friends) will assign to you from time to time. So, there you have it. This is my planet and welcome to it.

My birthday is July 10, 1968. Yes, that's right, this is my 42nd trip around the sun. So far, so good. I'm a Cancer, and so is my beautiful wife Dixie, in fact, we're both "crabby monkeys."

My interests include traveling, art, going to the movies, and reading (mostly non-fiction). I like to go out with friends -- happy hours especially. I enjoy good beer (which means mostly imports), but I drink it for the taste, not to get drunk.

I currently work as a software engineer for Boeing on a number of programs, including the F/A-18 Super Hornet program. I spent six years in the United States Marine Corps (1986-1992) as a computer programmer and left as a sergeant.
