Hi. My name is Jerry A. Pipes (I use my middle initial so that you won’t confuse me with all the other people you know named Jerry Pipes). You’ve reached what I call planet snewpy. Why? Well, I’ve had a special connection with Snoopy ever since I was in high school, so it’s a nickname of sorts. Although there aren’t many people who actually call me that, I have found that self-imposed nicknames prevent, to a certain degree, those otherwise bothersome nicknames that others (who claim to be your friends) will assign to you from time to time. So, there you have it. This is my planet and welcome to it.
I was born in 1968, so this is my 48th trip around the sun. So far, so good. My interests include traveling, art, podcasting, raising urban chickens, and reading (mostly non-fiction). I like to go out with friends — happy hours especially — and enjoy good beer (which means mostly imports).
Since 1996, I have worked as a software engineer for Boeing on both the F/A-18 Super Hornet and AH-64 Apache programs. Prior to that, I spent six years in the United States Marine Corps (1986-1992) as a computer programmer and left as a sergeant.
